The Edsel and Vista, and the Edsel wasn't so bad!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edsel

There is no single reason why the Edsel failed, and failed so spectacularly.
Popular culture often faults the car's styling. Consumer Reports cited poor
workmanship. Marketing experts hold the Edsel up as a supreme example of
corporate America's failure to understand the nature of the American
consumer. Business analysts cite the weak internal support for the product
inside Ford's executive offices. According to author and Edsel scholar Jan
Deutsch, the Edsel was "the wrong car at the wrong time."

I come to find out the other day when I finally got on the base after
working on this contract for the USAF for several months that base
personnel are using Vista machines. Vista is all over the place on the
base. So, I suspect that Vista is being used throughout all branches of
the military, DoD and the Pentagon, since that's one of the solutions I
am developing for them.

I also suspect that Vista is being used in the corporate environment
more than what is lead to believe by surveys, because Vista is certainly
being used in the firm I work at.

If Vista is good enough for the USAF, then I suspect it's being used
more and more.

NO Vista is not used by the Military and never was. All I can tell you is that Vista
if used by the USAF at the base you went to then this would have been either a
personal or a network between personal computer users.

Fact is Vista is not used by any branch of the USA government and that includes the
Military branches.OS used by the Military comprises of W2K, W2K3, XP and Unix
systems

All computer related use in the US Fed government is controlled through Cray
servers which are located way underground in the Pentagon. Quite a sight to see .

Now there's some statistically valid information. (not!)

Well, you should see what I am working on that has nothing to with Crey
servers, which Cray Servers has nothing to do with Windows workstations,
*cloud technology* and SOA with SOA sitting on Win 2k3 and IIS.

I and I am telling you that USAF personnel are sitting at those
computers that are running Vista when I went to get base authorization
to access the base.

I know Randy Atkins, and I have meet him personally on a couple of
occasions as he has come to the firm to meet me.

I and the team I am working with will implement new .NET technology into
the solutions along with creating new .NET solutions for the US military
all branches, the DoD and the Pentagon.

And I am being paid well to deliver "cloud technology" and SOA . :-P

The new techniques, including blogs, wikis and personal profiles, are
coming out of an initiative by Air Force Knowledge Now (AFKN), a
resource provided on the Department of Defense (DOD) intranet. They're
helping service members and civilian employees find the information they
need more quickly and are now being shared with members of the U.S.
Army, Navy and Marines, according to Randy Adkins, director of the Air
Force's Center of Excellence for Knowledge Management

BS man, because Vista is being used where I work at. Also, I have seen
posts in another NG Linux.COLA, in particular, where the poster
indicated that that there were over 200 Vista machines being used in his
organization.

I have also been on .NET contracting interviews where the decision had
been made to go to Vista.

Just because you're a frog on a log, it doesn't mean that anyone else is
on the log with you.

That's right. I know more than you do as to what I am working on for the
USAF, and what is being shared by all branches of the military, the DoD
and the Pentagon, concerning 'cloud technology' and SOA.

And I am being paid well to do so too. It's most likely 5 times your
entitlement benefits as a retiree.
