Can I remove downloaded updates?

Hi,

There was a problem during the installation of .NET Framework 1.1 on my
computer. I removed it but after that the reinstallation failed, too.
Because I don't need it, it is no problem if it doesn't work on my computer.
But Windows Update downloaded after the first installation a hotfix and a
language package for .NET Framework 1.1. During every shutdown windows tries
to install these updates. If .NET Framework 1.1 is installed, the update
fails because the installation was not successful. If .NET Framework 1.1
isn't installed, the update fails, too.

How can I reset the downloaded files of Windows Update so that windows don't
try to install the hotfix and the language package of .NET Framework 1.1?

Many thanks for your help!

Björn
