When I originally used Windows Update in my new Vista computer, it searched
for updates to the OS (Vista) only. I since configured it to search for
updates to Office as well and would like to restore the original version.

(1) Is there any way to DEselect the suggested updates so that they STAY
deselected and I'm not reminded constantly to install those updates?, or
(2) Can I restore the original Windows Update so that it ceases to search
for Office updates and only searches for Vista updates?

Help!! I've researched and researched this question without success.

Go to Microsoft Update webpage > Click on Change Settings in left pane >
Scroll to bottom of page > To Stop Using Microsoft Update > Disable
Microsoft Update software and let me use Windows Update only (check).

With Windows Update as your default, you will need to check in at Office
Update to keep your Office applications fully patched:

YW & thanks for posting back. (Thanks, too, for not asking about a problem
with a .NET Framework update! <eg>)
