CAN I RUN WINDOWS 98 CD TO PICK UP ANYTHING I MAY HAVE DELETED

I think I may have deleted something accidently in add/remove programs. Can
I run the windows 98 CD to pick it up again, what happens if it is SP2.
I think this may be why I am having trouble installing critical updates.

Windows 98 had no SP2. Windows 98 had two versions; Windows 98 and Windows
98 SE.
You need to take a deep breath, count to 10, and try real hard to figure out
what Operating System you are using on your computer.

Windows 98 SE, it is my elderly neighbours computer. I use XP myself. thanks
