Hi, I've needed to reformat my hard drive for a long time but I've been
putting it off because my Windows XP installation disk only has Service Pack
1 on it. I've got a lame dial up internet connection so it takes me ages to
download anything. I'm concerned that I will be vulnerable while I'm online
trying to reupdate.

I'm running XP Home - fully updated at the moment. I tried to get SP2 posted
out on disk but found that it was only done inside the US. I live in
Australia.

I definitely do need to reformat so can anyone please offer some
suggestions???

Many thanks

No. If you must format and reinstall Windows and the machine came with
WinXP SP1 installed, you will have to (1) download/install SP2 and then (2)
all post-SP2 Windows Updates again.

Residents of Australia *can* order SP2 on CD. See
