I am new to WSUS (3.0). Can someone tell me if a server can be in multiple
groups?

Absolutely! This is one of the "features" added to the WSUS 3.0 revision.
However, it requires client-side targeting to implement.

To place a server in multiple groups you need to:

[a] Create the groups on the WSUS Server. They can be flat groups, or
heirarchical groups.

[b] Modify policy, or the registry, to identify the group names in a
semi-colon delimited list.

AFAIK it can also be done with server-side targeting. I do that on my
server as I don't have client-side targeting enabled. You just right
click the client and choose Change Membership. It will allow you to put
the client in as many groups as you want.

You're right, it will.

Thanks Wade.
