How can I stop Automatic Windows Updates

The new patch and associated updates from Microsoft is
overwhelming. How can I set my computer to stop
receiving automatic updates.

Howdy Randall,
Whish you had stated your version/edition of Windows. is it XP? In this group we cover all Windows Update issues from Win98 up thru Win2000 to XP & on up to some Windows servers.

Preface: Be sure to keep your pc protected with a good firewall & an up-to-date antivirus. But further, you have to keep up with security updates !

To review your pc's settings for Automatic Updates:
See My Computer icon (on your desktop)> right-click > select Properties > then see the Automatic Updates Tab.

Logout & restart the system after making a change.
