Can I stop Winmail from running automatically at startup?

I've noticed Winmail runs automatically as a process on startup. Is there a
reason this needs to run and if not can I change it to launch manually? My
OS is Vista Home Premium 64 bit.

Thank you in advance, Rob

to open, is windows mail in the folder if yes just right click and delete
it.

Thanks again Vic for the responsiveness. I checked and it is not in the
startup folder. I do know from looking at the Task Manager that is running
as a process. Is there a way to change the process from running
automatically to manually or something along that line?

Much gratitude, Rob.

Ok try this

Go into start and where it says start search type msconfig click on
msconfig.exe when it finds it. Now in the box that opens click the startup
tab and look for mail program there. If there untick the box next to it.
Restart and see if that helps.

I followed your outlined procedure but the Winmail wasn't on the startup
tab. Any other suggestions? Sorry to be a pain....

Much gratitude, Rob

No problem. My last option would be download autoruns, try first link below
http://download.sysinternals.com/Files/Autoruns.zip

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/s.../bb963902.aspx

Once you download zip folder extract and click on autoruns.exe, now click on
the logon tab and see if it is there, if yes just untick the box next to it,
close program and restart computer.

Sorry that's all i can think of at the moment

I downloaded the autoruns file and had no luck disabling it. Oh well ...
can't say we didn't try. I'll continue to research.

Thanks again, Rob

How did you discover it's running as a process at startup?
