Hi all, after SP2 i can`t connect to windows update service
IE opens left and top frames, but central frame not openned
Write "The page cannot be displayed", like when I not connected to network,
or try open some site without proxy

I`m connected to internet through proxy server.
Workstation belongs to domain

In direct connection (without proxy) everything is OK
But from my local network I can`t connect to any site without proxy
It seems like windows update don`t read proxy server settings from IE
explorer settings and try open it directly

Please help me solve this problem ....

Hi

Window Updates v5's proxy configuration can be set with
proxycfg.exe (WinHTTP Default Proxy Configuration Tool).

Open a command prompt (Start/Run and then "cmd.exe" without the
quotes").

Run this command to see current proxy configuration for WU:

proxycfg

To set it to use current users's IE proxy settings:

proxycfg -u

To get more help on proxycfg:

proxycfg -?

Thanks for response, but it not helps me .......

I`ve try proxycfg -u

But still "page can not be displayed"

As a proxy/firewall on gateway I`m using MS ISA 2000 where
In "http redirector filter" i set "reject HTTP requests from Firewall and
Secure NAT clients" (Internal Policy of company)

Maybe this helps you .....??

Hi

Then i think your only option is that an anonymous access rule for the
Windows Update site is created on the proxy server.

More here:

XP Windows Update Error 0x8024402C / 0x80072f78 when behind a
Microsoft ISA server
