Hi

When I try to install activesync 4.1 on my Windows XP SP2 with firewall
disabled I get the Install shield window just after I start the setup.

The text in the Install Shield window is:

Command Line parameters:

/L Language ID

/ S Hide initialization dialog. For Silent mode use: /S

/v /an

/V parameters to Msiexec.exe

....

....

I am local admin on my machine. I get the same errors when I try on a
different machine in my domain.

What can be wrong, any ideas?

Regards

Peter

Hi Peter,

I don't have a definite solution here but could you do the following and
provide information on where the temp folder is located:

- Click Start -> Run and type

%temp%

- Click Ok.

Note the address of the path of the folder that appears.

Hi

My temp location where:

%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp and for me it where

C:\DOCUME~1\pa1\Local Settings\Temp

I tried to change my temp drive to c:\temp, and after that the installation
worked perfect.

Did you have same other or similar solution or some nice why to change the
temp drive?

Thanks for your tips.

Regards

Peter

Hi Peter,

Yes, I was planning to suggest clearing the %temp% folder contents and if
that didn't help try the redirection of temp folder. Thanks for getting
back with the solution that worked for you.
