No, I am not trying to be funny. Yesterday, I did a Windows Repair off my
OEM Win XP disk. All went well. I then used my SP2 CD from and installed
SP2. All went well. I then asked for the latest updates, which netted me
50! I clicked install and waited... and waited.

After seeing a grey screen for 90 minutes I turned the PC off and rebooted.
Then had to reboot again as the screen filled with
multi(0)disk(o)rdisk(0)partition(1)\windows\System 32\Drives...
messages.

Now when I PC starts, I see the XP screen for about 15 secs. then the screen
goes grey/black for 20 seconds, then blue for 10-15 seconds and then slowly
from there my desktop is restored.

I would like to undo those 50 installs and maybe try 2 or 3 at a time. Maybe
that would yield different and better results as I was fine before the 50
updates.

Start the computer, in safe mode.

When it loads and asks if you want to continue in safe mode or restore the
computer to an earlier time... choose the latter to choose a System Restore
Point before you installed the updates. Let it do its thing.

50 after a clean install with SP2? You had at least 35 more to go after
that then. ;-)

Boot into Safe Mode and look in Add/Remove Programs (make sure Show Updates
is checked): Are any of the 50 updates listed?

Thank you, both of you. Yes, these updates are lumped into 12 update
security packages in the add/remove programs list. Also, there is a restore
point for when SP2 was installed. Now to go to work. Thanks for the help!
