can i update my w98 se?

Hi all
I use virtual pc 2005 and installed windows 98 se.
When I try windows update I get an error "This website is designed to work
with Microsoft Windows operating systems only.............."

LOL?

July 11, 2006 brought to a close to Extended Support for Windows 98, Windows
98 Second Edition, and Windows Me as part of the Microsoft Lifecycle Policy.
Microsoft will retire public and technical support, including security
updates, by this date.

You have IE6 SP1 installed on the VPC machine? If not, do it.
Afterwards you may still see those error messages from time to
time, but at least in some cases (after refreshing the WU site)
you should still be able to see the Windows Update site occuring.

Try it again and again - sometimes it works - sometimes ist doesn't.

Help to do what? Don't use Win9x with WU.

Use another OS (VPC?) to access the WU Catalog
and download whatever you need for the Win9x.
