Can use Internet Explorer Since Update

The other night Windows did auto updates. I am now having a problem using
Internet Explorer. I can use it sometimes for some sites. But for others I
can get to them. If I try to go to the it will do nothing. it just sits
there. The flag in the right hand conner will move like it is trying to
connect to that site, but it never goes.

Some of the places i can't go to are Ebay, Paypal, Hotmail, a newspaper.

What is going on?

Melissa - I'm having the same problem with my Internet Exporer, twice now
after doing updates. Additionally, WORD was blocked completely (also after
the Updates). I had to do System Restore. Now it's happening all over
again. Can anyone help?

For those who have Hewlett Packard's Share to Web Software, there
are two registry patches to choose from (run either one or the
other) not both:

I've made a "patch" back on Saturday available at:
http://patch-info.de/WinXP/Downloads...are-To-Web.zip
(Note this is a Zip file and will need to be extracted. It contains
a REG file which needs to be imported into the registry via double
clicking the contained REG file. You may have to reboot Windows
afterwards.)

Line #383 - this is a vbs file and instructions on how to use such
files are at the top of the page.

Both of the above mentioned "patches" for the KB908531 *do not*
work for Windows 2000. See the MSKB article 918165 for details.

If you're using a Nvidia video card, you may want to update the driver
for that card: http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp

I am having the same problem. I can get to sites that are in my favorites and
I can get to sites through google or if I type http but not if I just try
www. Firefox works. i have run several spyware and virus scans in safe mode
and found nothing. Also, it will not let me restore to an earlier date.
