What I mean here is that can we protect opening a folder or a file with
fingerprint software. i have a Dell XPS and this machine comes with a
fingerprint reader.. Now i really dont want to use this feature for logging
on to windows but instead would like to use it for keeping some personal
folders as private. is this possible. if yes would you mind mailing about
this to personal email address. i know i am asking a something too much to
do, but if you can it will be of great help. My email address is

Thankyou so much

It's not considered proper to ask for private email replies. The whole point
of 'public' newsgroups is to keep all of the messages on the group. This
way, when the messages are archived, someone who is experiencing the same
problem or needs the same information can easily find it.

As to your question, what you are asking would be a function of the
fingerprint reader software. Check with them.

Hi Larry
Again - again.
Just this ...
If you bought a full version, and not only an upgrade - I wouldn't even
think about upgrading from XP..
Those two OS's are not that close families.
I would backup all my stuff (thats what I did) and make a clean new install
on a clean drive.
Vista gives enough troubles itselves, not to mix them with XP failures too -
