How can I tell weather updates are genuine or not ?
I'm having this "issue" for a month or so. Every day I have updates and
even sometimes my computer do not automatically shutdown. For example
yesterday I woke up at 4am and noticed that my computer was still
running. It displayed desktop and not the shutdown screen as I left it.
This lead me to the idea that there might be some problems with the
Windows Automatic Update Engine or that it could be tricked by some
malicious software (virus/trojan/backdoor/worm).
The log file is over 1MB and it's useless to post it here but what it
stroke me doing a quick look over it was the following line that
appeared over and over in the file for 6 different updates.
<Update {CLSID} is "PerUpdate" regulated and can NOT download. Sequence
8672 vs AcceptRate 0.>
What is the problem ? The AU cannot download some update or it cannot
insttall something and tries to install it over and over...
I really don't know. Any idea ? Thanks!
here is the whole AU log:
