I'd like to transfer files made on a disk formated on Vista to an XP
machine. The XP machine will not copy the files. How can I transfer the
files? I've asked this before but have not gotten an answer, surely others
have had the same problem.

I count seven answers to two of your previous three posts.

Here's the eighth: XP can read Vista files.

I've had no problems transferring files between my Vista and XP
computers. What kind of a disk are you talking about?

Don't expect an answer from this guy. He's asked the question at least
3 times, and received at least 6 answers. He seems to have no idea how
to work his newsreader.

If you mean across a network, yes if the permissions are set properly.
If you mean taking a Vista HDD and popping it into an XP machine and reading
the files, maybe not.
The way Vista does file & folder permissions may not be (probably is not)
useable on an XP system.
