Is it possible to get the video subsystem of "Basic vista" from an upgrade
verision of Vista? For example, if I have "Bussiness Vista" on my laptop can
I switch on and use the video subsystem for Basic Vista. Personal I do not
need all the eye candy of an updraged Vista but I do need those resourses
spent on that part of the video subsystem back for other programs that I
want to use. Is thier a way to recouping those resourses used by the
upgraded video subsystem of a Vista upgrades?

Thx

I'm not sure about the subsystem, but I turn off the special effects.
In performance, I tell it 'adjust for best performance'.
No more sliding menus, shadowing, etc.

You can get the Vista Basic UI by right clicking the desktop > click
Personalize > Themes > Windows Aero Basic. Vista Basic uses a slightly
different Windows Aero minusing the transparency effects.
