Can you help with this iSCSI error?

(Vista HP SP1, iSCSI Target on Thecus N5200Pro)

Having found out how to log-off an iSCSI session, I find now that most of
the time I can't...

I receive the message "the session cannot be logged out since a device on
that session is currently being used"; as per Microsoft iSCSI Software
Initiator 2.x Users Guide I check for open handles and find the following
open files and the processes that have the handles.

I:\System Volume Information\tracking.log svchost.exe
I:\$Extend\$RmMetadata\$TxfLog\$TxfLogContainer000 00000000000000002 System
Process
I:\$Extend\$RmMetadata\$TxfLog\$TxfLogContainer000 00000000000000001 System
Process
I:\$Extend\$RmMetadata\$TxfLog\$TxfLog.blf System Process
I:\$Extend\$ObjId svchost.exe

which are all NTFS structures, so the disk is just doing nothing except
being there...

I can see the IET Virtual Disk Device Policies are set to "Optimise for
Performance", and I'd like to try to set them to "Optimise for Safe Removal"
but they are both greyed out...

Would appreciate knowing how to force a log-off and chang the policy.

I had to make sure that my computer management mmc was closed then it was no
problem to log out. Hope this helps...

You had a similar issue? Thanks for the thought!

Unfortunately I didn't have a Computer Management console open... or any
other MMC snap-ins... AFAIK

One other thing though... log-off problems only *seem* to occur if the iSCSI
target has been set as a Persistent Target and the System logs on
automatically...

(I'm trying to find out whether that's because of the account it uses to log
on under, but manual log-on and log-off have not given problems, but there's
not much point in having a Persistent target if you can't use it without the
system crashing and you can't log off either...)
