can you reintroduce in live messenger the contactlist thumbnails ?

In old msn messenger I found very comfortable with the feature of seeing
contact thumbnails near their names in the contact list. I'm trying live
messenger on one of my computer in these days, and it seems I can't have
thumbnails in the contact list, but only on the single contact card.

I think that the thumbnail can also reflect a contact's mood or her/his
recent experiences, so it's very useful to have the thumbnail near the
name... Moreover, it's faster to recognize a contact by his photo than by his
name...

My questions are:
- Why did you remove this feature? (in previous versions it was an option,
so one could choose to enable it or not)
- Could you please restore it ? I'm sure I really prefer old msn messenger
just because of this "look" feature.

It's still there, sort of.

Just click the "Managed your contacts" icon (looks like two arrows) to the right of the 'Find
a contact or number' field, and choose Show Details.

If you don't like that view and would prefer to small versions, you can do by using an
"unsupported" (aka no stamp of approval from Microsoft) patch. The "Mess" Patch will do this
for you which you can find here:
http://www.mess.be
(look for the Mess patch link in the top headlines).

The feature in question is "Show Small Display Pictures In Normal View".
