Canceling an Windows Live Messenger account.

How do I cancel a Windows Live Messenger account? Do I just not sign in for
30 days or is it tied in with the Windows Live ID account?

Greetings Mike,

It's tied in. Your contacts won't be deleted unless your Live ID is inactive and deleted.
Time frame for that is several years.

However, there's nothing stopping you from deleting all your contacts.
