When I check my update history, there are quite a few updates listed as
either cancelled or failed. I am not that savy so is this something I should
be worried about?

Install this -
From Microsoft - Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer.
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sec...2/default.mspx

Then run the tool and it will let you know if there is a problem with the updates etc.

Some of the updates may have been installed at a later stage.

Hi there. I have a similar problem. There were a whole bunch of updates today
(7-11) and one shows cancelled in the update history. (KB937077)

Why did this happen and how can I get it back?

thanks!!

Maybe the update installed ealier?
Start button || Control Panel || Programs
Under Programs and Features - click View installed updates

Perhaps try a manual download if it's not there:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/r...DisplayLang=en

Assuming you're using Vista that is.

I have the same problem. In my update history I show many failed updates. How
can I retrieve these updates?

See TaurArian's original reply to the OP?
The idea of using MBSA is to see if there are any updates to be
worried about. Just having failed updates in your log is not necessarily
something to worry about. E.g. you might have installed them manually
and then they wouldn't be recorded in the log you are looking in.

Good luck
