'Cancelled' status - how to proceed

I have just discovered that a set of 9 security updates (date: 11 Oct 2005)
were
cancelled. I did not do this knowingly. The source of all of these is
'Automatic updates'. (I have Win XP Pro, SP2)

I have update entries subsequently to 11 Oct, but the 'cancelled' ones have
not been picked up again. Why not? How can I uncancel (remove these from the
cancelled list) so as the system re-tries to install these?

missing are: KB905414, KB904 706, KB 901017, KB 896688, etc...(9 total).

Thanks for any pointers.

Much as I hate to talk to myself in public....

I have discovered that all nine critical updates were subsequently installed
(11-Oct-05) by looking under (Add/Remove > (show updates ticked) )

The puzzling thing is - these were not registered as having been installed
on the later date (under 'Review your update history' panel).

Hmm...

How can I change the status to "succeeded?"
