MS is offering free support for getting SP3 installed:

If you prefer not to install SP3, than make sure that all available
Security updates have been installed already. You can always Hide SP3
depending on Automatic Updates' settings.
If you set AU to the " Download updates for me but let me choose when to
install them " setting, you can then click on the update notification
icon, a window will appear, UNcheck the box next to Windows Service Pack
3 (KB936929), click OK, then put a check mark next to " Do not show me
this update again ", and then click OK, again.
If AU is set to " Notify ", then you'll still have the option to hide
SP3 when you are prompted for the installation Approval.
