I cannot access ANY SSL sites. I also cannot access www.microsoft.com,
www.msn.com, windowsupdate, etc. I can access other web sites though
(www.google.com). Have tried the following:

- Confirmed firewall is not blocking SSL
- Re-confirmed this by telneting on port 443 to a known ssl site.
- Performed all (minus restoring system) troubleshooting steps in
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=813444
- Ran full virus scan
- Ran full adware scan

Not sure what to try next. Any help would be appreciated.

F.

Try adding the URL's of the blocked sites to the Trusted sites zone via
Internet Options in the Control Panel.

After much mucking about I figured out what the problem was. It was an
MTU issue. The client's oldish firewall only had an MTU of 1272. This
was the same on the server in question. I looked at some of the other
machines that were working and they all had MTU's of 1172. I changed
this on the offending server and presto!!! Everything works. It even
seems to have resolved a mail issue I was having. Thanks for your
input.
