Chelle,
Hang in there :
http://www.michna.com/kb/WxSP2.htm#C...Service_Pack_2
Scroll down to the " Cryptographic service and related errors " heading
and try the suggested resolutions starting with running " fixdb.bat ".
As Antioch suggested, you can order the CD.
OR, if on broadband, download the entire SP2 package from here :
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
Save it to the Desktop.
Create a folder on the root drive ( usually C:\ ) and name it SP2.
Move WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe to the newly created SP2 folder.
After employing the suggested resolutions for the Cryptographic services
issue, suggest that you disable all real time monitoring of the system
by the installed antivirus program. Consult the website of the AV's
manufacturer for full details.
Disconnect all peripherals (printers, USB Hard Drives, etc)
Now to go Start > Run > click the Browse button
Browse to C:\SP2
Click on WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe
Click Open
Click OK
That *should* get SP2 installed.
