I cannot access WindowsUpdate after problems.

COMPAQ Evo N1015v, Windows XP Professional SP2

After using the Windows XP Professional Check-Disk to automatically correct
HDD-Bad Sectors and deleting corrupt files, I cannot access WindowsUpdate.

How do I restore or restart the normal running of WindowsUpdate, thanks for
your help.
