I have worked through the advice under the troubleshoot link. I had done
this yesterday. I just finished working through the windows update
checklist. I am still unable to do a windows update. A few odd points
though:
1. When trying to repair Internet Explorer, I do not have a program for
Microsoft Internet Explorer. I had to go to add/remove windows components.
Which this does not allow me to repair. I cannot even reinstall internet
explorer. It says internet explorer is up to date. Any problems here?
2. When trying to cleanup the windows update folder, the instructions ask
you to leave the v4 folder and a file 'iuhist.xml'. The only thing I had in
this directory was the v4 folder and the files under that folder. Is that OK?
3. Following is some information from the file
