Cannot add files or picture to an email

Hi

I'm trying to attach a picture (and the same is true for a file) to an
email, but when I navigate to where the picture/file is located I get an
error that the folder is not accessible.

If I navigate to the file with windows explorer I can open it no problem.

Is this an error or is it just some form of security?

Thanks

Tom

It could be a security suite that you have installed, it sould also be that
you are trying to access a junction point instead of a 'real' folder.
Be sure of the path and check any security suite settings.

It could be that the directory permissions are screwed up. Try copying the
image to the Desktop and then see if you can insert it.

Also check for 3rd party interfererence. See point 3 here:

OK,

Its nothing to do with the av email scanner (as I disabled scanning and it
made no difference).

When I click to attach a file/photo a new window opens (the equivalent of my
documents I presume?) and cetainly my picture shows as a shortcut, but over
to the left of this pop up window is a hyperlink (pictures) and clicking on
this opens my pictures. I've not tested it but it seems the same for files,
of other types.

Any idea as to the reasoning behind this? As it seems to be the default (I
didn't set it up like this).

Thank you,

I know how to attach, my point was that when i clicked on the my pictures
icon, to attach a picture vista wouldn't allow me to continue. It wasn't
until i looked closer that i noticed that the my picture link was actually a
shortcut (unlike XP where you have a direct link to the folder). I had to
select a hyperlink to the left of the pop up window to open the pictures
folder.

I'm just enquiring what the difference between vista and XP?
