Cannot add new contacts: Contact is not in your contacts list...

Hello,

I have a problem with adding new contacts in my Live Messenger (right now
its version 8.5 BETA but version does not matter - its the same in any other
version). When somebody tries to add me to the contact list or if I try to
add somebody, then sometimes the contact ends in strange state. I can see
the contact in my contact list, but I do not see the contact status (if its
online or offline or whatever), I cannot initiate the the session (Online or
offline) - instead of it the default action is to send email. But if the
other side (which can see my status) send me message we can conversate, but
I cannot send winks, files or start webcam and the messenger tells me, that
the other contact is offline (its not true) and there is a message on the
top of the window, which says: Contact is not in your contact list. Click
here to add contact to your contact list. But when I click there, nothing
happens...

I tried to delete these contacts and add them again but this not work...

Can anybody help me?

Same problem here, in fact I just posted a similar topic but I think you
worded yours better. Im on vista as well using the newest messenger.

But no one cares... :-(

Check out my thread that I posted. There is a good answer in there for you
guys. I fixed mine by using the old windows messenger and windows live
messenger on xp instead of vista and it worked.

I had exact same porblem on old computer, i ahd to use a really old version that ic ould access through the internet, im not sure how the two worked side by side. Once i got a new laptop it was fine but now it seems to be oding it again...
