cannot apply update KB835732 and no other updates

Hello,

I cannot apply any updates on a specific system of a customer. Its Windows
XP Home Service Pack1. If I try to update the system via Windows Update all
Updates was downloaded but fails after setup (red letters, "cannot install
patch ..."). But I have to intstall the sasser update on this system. If I
download the updates and the files ist extracted after doubble clicking it
rans into an error "invaild file". I tried some other hotfixes but allways
the same errors "invalid file...". I tried to reinstall SP1 but the same
error!!!!

I think this is a small but heavy error. The PC is virusfree and runs very
fine after removal of the viruses and 250 files recognized by adaware

Any ideas how to solve this case?

Microsoft.com
