Hi, I need your help. I downloaded an automatic update which was offered
automatically on the bottom of my screen. (not a pop-up) I just pressed ok
and the download started. The download was taking a long time, so I stepped
away from the computer for awhile. When I came back there was a small gray
box on the screen that said something "aborted" (I don't remember exactly).
When I clicked o.k., there was another gray box underneath that said "access
denied." I clicked out of that box and what had downloaded started to
uninstall itself. The process was shown in a white box. It asked if I
wanted to do a system scan or something like that for security purposes
before it uninstalled, I clicked o.k. The computer went through a series of
four steps and ended with "running uninstallation." The screen locked up at
this point. Nothing was happening and I had to just turn off the computer.
The next time I turned the computer on on, It ran the dell screen, the window
xp screen and then a blue screen that said "{unable to Locate Component} This
application has failed to start because winsrv was not fount. Re-installing
the application may fix this problem." I can't get out of this screen. Any
suggestions?

Hi Toby,

See if the information in this MSKB article helps you resolve the problem:
You receive a "Stop: c0000135" and "winsrv was not found" error message
after you install Windows XP Service Pack 2
