The antivirus program your daughter installed (software) has nothing to do
with your problem (hardware). From your description of the issue, your
laptop has suffered a major hardware failure. Since it is a laptop (and I
don't think the problem is the hard drive or the RAM), you can't fix this
yourself. Contact HP tech support for repair/replacement.
