Hi

I have formatted and installed Ultimate on my C: Drive, I have a second Hard
drive connected by USB where I stored some docs and pictures before
formatting my C Drive but I cannot copy my files over, I get a message that
I do not have permission.

How do I get permission?

I am the only user on the PC.

thanks

Danny

Hi,

Take ownership of the top level folder and have it propagate to the
subfolders. Right click a folder, click on properties. On the security tab,
click advanced. Click 'edit' on the owner tab, then change it to your
account. Enable the box for subcontainers and objects, then click apply/ok
and allow it to run through. Close up and you should be able to copy the
files.

Hi

I did exactly as you said and got a message box,
An error occurred while applying security information to:
j:\my stuff\pictures\0807\canberra etc
Access is denied.

I have UAC on and am the only user.

thanks
