cannot delete files i downloaded

I downloaded a program called registry mechanic 7. Vista 32 bit wont
execute the program to even install it. I tried compatability with Xp
but still no joy. I went to delete it but each time i try I am getting
blocked by the O/S with a message "Destination Folder acess denied" with
a warning triangle and an exclamation mark no less!

As i am the sole user and Administrator why is vista not allowing me to
do this?

I use avast antivirus and windows defender is on but can someone
enlighten me what i will need to do to delete this application?

Try using Unlocker to delete the file/folder

Reboot the PC, then delete it. If you tried to install it, the file
probably still thinks it's in use installing the software. A reboot should
clear that up.

Are you really logged on with the Administartor account or just one that you
think is in the admin group?
Either way just take ownership of the folder (and all sub folders) and all
files and then reset the permissions to full control and delete.

You can overcome an access denied situation by clicking Start and typing
"appwiz.cpl" in Start Search. Do not hit Enter. Right click on the icon at
the top of the menu and choose Run As Administrator. You should be able to
uninstall.

I used "Unlocker" worked a treat- must say as a Newbie to Vista why
have microsoft created something that visually is slick but retarded in
usability!? cant do as much as i can with XP.
