This question appears to come up a lot but I haven't seen the answer.
We've deleted dozens of network printers on a 2k3 cluster that are no longer
in use. What I've noticed is if you do not UNSHARE the printer first prior
to deletion, the printer object still appears as a shared printer when you
browse to \\servername\. Of course with the printers being deleted, you
cannot connect to the printer and delete it properly. I've found registry
entries for the old shared printers, tried deleting, and restarting the print
spooler but they still appear. What's the best way to remove these obsolete
shared printers?
