After the latest windows update, I could not log on to the Vista anymore as
admin user. A standard user logon is ok.

I pressed F8 while the system restore in order to restore the system. But
when I tried to select "Repair Your PC", the windows started, instead of
allowing me to select system restore option.

Please help.

Go to
http://vistahomepremium.windowsreins...temrestore.htm

and you can re-install Vista, the version is unimportant, the steps
are the same for all versions.

Hi, before you go to the drastic measure of re-installing you OS, try one
last thing.
1. logon to the user account.
2. open Control Panel , choose Add or Remove User Accounts . You will be
asked to enter Adm. password , and assuwing your password is still valid. IF
IT IS VALID, you are almost home free.
3. click the user account
4. find CHANGE ACCOUNT TYPE , click that and change that acct. into ADM
ACCT.
5. NOW you can do your system restore back-date it ,etc etc.
Once you have your own ADM. acct. back, don't forget to revert the other
adm. back to standard acct.
