Cannot dowload updates

Hi all ,
I have installed WSUS 3.0 SP1.
I have access to internet via proxy. I can navigate on this server via
proxy. But when I try to syncronize updates, after up to 20 minutes it fails
trying to connect to Microsoft Updates. In details i can see the following :
"WebException: The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error
occurred on a send. ---> System.IO.IOException: Unable to read data from the
transport connection: A connection attempt failed because the connected party
did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection
failed because connected host has failed to respond.
