When I try to get SP3 by Windwos update, an error message appears.
Something like, "there isn't enough space in Windows/NtServicePackUninstall.
You need 4mb more space." My hard disc has 25Gb free space now. What can I
do? Any suggestion? Thnx.

Then you need a bigger hard drive. I just checked my
\Windows\$NtServicePackUninstall$ folder and the size was listed as 455Mb;
because that's where it holds all the stuff in case you decide to uninstall
SP3 and there really is not much you can do about the size requirement.

Thanks for your comment. The problem is, I do have enough free space on my
hard drive, but something called "windows/ntsearvicepack/uninstall doesn't.
I don't even know what this means.

If you're sure you have the space, you can download the full 315MB file. From
that file run: windowsxp-kb936929-sp3-x86-enu.exe /x

This will extract the contents. It will ask you where. Specify an empty
folder.

Once extracted, you can delete windowsxp-kb936929-sp3-x86-enu.exe.

Run from your folder update.exe located in the update folder.

This procedure requires probably under 1.5GB in total.

Apparently the Windows Update engine disagrees with you; see
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949385

%windows%/ntsearvicepack/uninstall is the folder that will contain
(basically) your backup files, should you need to uninstall SP3.
