I use IE 7.0. Suddenly when I go to any site that has a text box
(google, my bank account, email log in, etc.) I can't get a cursor to
blink in the box, so I can't enter the information. All of the links on
the pages work, I just don't have the ability to 'click' in the text box
and have the cursor appear. Any ideas?

Hi,

Windows XP or Vista? (Might or might not be important.)

Start Internet Explorer without add-ons from:
Right-click the IE icon on the desktop. Choose Start without add-ons.
or
Programs> Accessories> System tools> Internet Explorer (no add-ons)
If the problem goes away, you have an incompatible browser add-on installed.

For troubleshooting information see:

928426- Internet Explorer 7 may exit immediately when it includes an add-on

Hope this helps,

Go to start -> cmd -> in the command window typ
cd\ and press enter ke
Then type cd program* and press enter ke
then type cd internet* and press enter ke
So finally the location should show as C:\Program Files\Interne
Explorer
Now type " regsvr32 vbscript.dll and press enter ke
You should get a dialog box stating that the module was Succeeded
Then reopen the new internet explorer
This should allow you to type anything on the text boxes.

Alternatively you can reregister the dll files by running the microsof
fixi
http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=965744

This should fix the problem

Sorry, I use XP. I tried using IE without Add-Ons and the problem remains.

Hi,
Good tip from shreemaya. If running the fixit in this
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/902932
and other MSKB articles doesn't work, enable the Windows Firewall (so you're
not completely unprotected) and disable third-party security programs (just
long enough to test.) See if a security program is causing the problem.

Intellitype and Intellipoint? There is an option in them which does this.
I wouldn't be surprised if it was in OEM support too.

What's the problem? Why not just give the field focus and type?
Press Ctrl-a to highlight whatever is there to make sure that you
are replacing it or press Ctrl-a, End to make sure that you are appending
to it, etc.

I found that this works:
Open a command prompt window (Start>Run>cmd) and type the following at the
prompt

regsvr32 mshtmled.dll
regsvr32 jscript.dll
regsvr32 /i mshtml.dll
