Cannot find contact list - error 81000374

I installed Windows Live Messenger 2 days ago ( I already had MSN and it was
working fine!) and I have not been able to log in ever since. Each time I
try to log in, I get an error message that I cannot use Windows Live at this
time because my contact list was not available. I had an extensive contact
list in my old MSN version and it's extremely frustrating not to be able to
use my MSN at all. Is there a way to get my contact list available or a way
to go back to my old MSN? Someone please help!!

As a test, uninstall Windows Live Messenger from Add or Remove Programs, and then reinstall
the old version, which you can find here:

Thank you Jonathan!! I was able to successfully reinstall Messenger 7.5.
I'm now back in the land of the MSN living.
