Hello,
Today we updated a windons update that affected our firewall. We were told
to remove KB951748. When we go to add/remove programs, we cannot find it to
remove and yet windows update says it has been installed. Thanks. -p

Was the system rebooted after the update installed ?
Is the Show updates box checked toward the top right of the ARP window ?

If yes and the update is not listed at the bottom under
Windows XP - Software Updates, use Windows Explorer
[Start-Programs-Accessories] and see if there is a $NtUninstallKB951748$
subfolder in WINDOWS.
Open spuninst and run spuninst.exe to uninstall KB951748

If Zone Alarm is the installed firewall the loss of connectivity has
been associated with this update.

Make sure that *show updates* is checked in add/remove.

thanks for the reply, mowgreen. however, i do not have the
$NtUninstallKB951748$ folder beneath windows. i do have a
C:\WINDOWS\$hf_mig$\KB951748 though. however (i seem to be using that a
lot), when i run the spuninst program, i get a message 'updspapi.dll was not
found'. so there's an update folder, and when i run update, i get a message
'setup could not find the update.inf file needed to update your system'.

How it happens I have no "Windows XP - Software Updates" entry at all under
add/remove programs? The show updates box is checked of course, but not even
the main entry visible confuses me.
