Im running XP Pro with SP3 Build 2600

I've been trying to update my Office 2007 to SP2, and keep getting an
installation failed error because "another installation is in progress". Had
the same problem when trying to install the Office PDf add-in.

Checked several resources on the Web and found that the msiexec.exe file
should only be running when an installation is in progress, and that it is OK
to end the process if not installations are occurring. When I did so, they
came right back within a minute. I also had some of the Windows updates that
would not install the other day. However, when I shut down my computer, they
appeared to install (don't know how to tell for sure).

How can I get rid of these files so I can finish the installation of these
and other updates.

Dale

What happens when you open Internet Explorer (only) to
http://www.update.microsoft.com/micr...6/default.aspx, select
CUSTOM scan & then install updates offered?
