Running Outlook 2003 on Vista Business. Have copied outlook express folder
from old PC to C: on Vista. Import says "Cannot open mail folder". I
imported into Windows Mail so it isn't a security problem, as the folder and
all subfolders/files are owned by the user who has full control of the folder
and files.
What can the problem be? Is it because there is no email acount set up as
yet?

It is basic logic, which computers work on!
You have to have an email account set up, before you can import anything
into an email account!

Wrong again Mick - firstly Outlook on Vista cannot import directly from OE
files transferred from an XP machine - it has to be done via Windows Mail
and secondly, Outlook can operate perfectly well WITHOUT an email account.

Bullshit yourself. If you copy your OE files to Vista, OUTLOOK WILL NOT
IMPORT THEM! Why? BECAUSE OE IS NOT INSTALLED ON VISTA!

And another example of your IGNORANCE - if you import mail in Outlook, then
you LOSE the modified date - ALL dates become the date of import. Now go and
LEARN something about Outlook.
