I have just downloaded the latest version of Windows Live Messenger, but
unfortunately it will not run.

Error message:
The application failed to initailize properly (0xe06d7363). Click OK to
teminate.

Any ideas?

Greetings,

Unfortunately this one isn't a known one and there isn't much debug output you can get for
this. You may want to try booting Windows into safe mode as a starting point to see if it
works there.

Hi,

What happens if you go into the \Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger folder and run the
msnmsgr.exe executable directly there? If that works, just make a new shortcut to replace
the old and that should be a suitable workaround.

The default shortcut created is a Windows Installer shortcut as opposed to a direct one, and
its initialization might be the only problem.
