cannot install live mail desktop

Hi,

I recieved an invitation from MS to experience the live mail desktop. I
downloaded and install but failed. Error code 1603, and ask me to download
latest version of Live Mail Desktop. What is the problem?

For now at least, the newsgroup for WMLDb support is
microsoft.public.windows.vista.mail. (Don't ask.)

Wu,

Use winrar to extract WLMail.msi and execute that file.
You should be able to install without any problems.

Or you can try this -
Open Windows Explorer and navigate to
C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Local Settings\Temp
and delete everything within the \Temp folder. If a file is reported to be in
use, go ahead and leave it alone, but delete the folders and files within the
\Temp folder.

thanks, this method works! But do not understand why. I use same .exe at
another PC without problem.

Wu, I believe it has something to do with the bootstrap file contained in the
exe. But don't take my word for it. All I know is extracting the MSI file is
the only way I got it to work.
