Cannot Install MS Office 2007 products of any kind!

I have been trying to install Ms Office Project 2007 for 2 weeks now and it
will get to the installation window, sits there a few seconds and then
stopsand says "there was an error while trying to install"

I have a new computer with Vista Home Basic 32x. I checked all of the
requirements and I am fine there.

I can install everything else except MS Office 2007 Products.

I am at the end of my rope. I have called, Emailed, and had chat sessions
until I am sick, and to no avail.

Can someone PLEASE help!

Did your machine come with a trial version of Office 2007?
Sometimes you have to remove it before installing components that were not
included in the trial.
Are you running the installer as administrator?

thanks for the tips. To answer your questions:

No my computer didn't come with a trial, but I do have office xp pro on here.

And yes I am running it as an administrator.

Well, I don't use it personally... but the requirements look like the
don't support office xp for using this... see below.... Someone correc
me if I'm wrong..

I am having the same problem, I have XPsp3, Project 2003SP3 and cannot
upgrade, when I uninstall itthe same probelm occurs
