Cannot Install Other Programs after XP SP2 Install

Hi,

I have XP Pro and yesterday I downloaded SP2 which went with no
problems.

But now I am unable to install any new programs?
This incluides any new updates from Windows Update.

With any program that I install, it just freezes near the beginning
with no error messages!

Has anyone else coem across this and if so any solution?
