Cannot install "Security Update for Windows XP (KB890175)"

I get an error message (Error Code: 80070003) when I try to install
"Security Update for Windows XP (KB890175)" via Windows Update. This is
the only critical update I have a problem with. It seems that the
download is successful, but the installation fails.
I am attaching the log. Can anyone tell be what the problem is? Thanks.

I have precisely the same issue. Everything installs fine except that one. I
get the same error
code to. But if you notice KB891075 - the so-called critical update has
ZERO, 0, nada, KB's
of data and the est. time to download is also ZERO, 0, zelch. So how
important can it be with
no digital info. involved in it. It's just an apparent nuisance that wants
to be installed but has
no actual data in it. Good old microsoft!!!

I downloaded the standalone version of KB891075 and it installed
without problems.

I think that's the only version (KB891075) stand alone or otherwise. A lot of
people can't download it; then suddenly can apparently. Just luck or lack of
it I guess....
