The installation stops when it is trying to copy a file \vs\Program
Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\SDK\v2.0\GuiDebug\shortcutCLRDbg32.txt. Error
says cannot open the file. I tried to open it manually, the same error is
displayed.

I appreciate any help or suggestion.

The size of the DVD for VS 2006 is greater 2.2Gigs; so maybe the solution
explained at the point 7.8 in the following reference is applicable to you:

http://www.robertmoir.co.uk/win/vpcf...ueswithVP.html

Personally, I use Daemon Tools (free) for this kind of job.

Interesting. I shared my DVD drive on host PC, then mapped it from VPC. I am
able to open the file now. I will try to do the complete install and see if
it solve the issue. My feeling is YES.

Thanks a lot for the useful tip.
