Cannot install windows update for .NET 1.1 SP1

I keep getting the following error:
Error Code: 0x643
Try to install the update again, or request help from one of the
following resources.


What exactly does that mean?

I am running Windows XP, Media Center Edition, Service Pack 2 on an AMD
Athalon 64 processor

I have the same problem but with a Pentium M processor and Microsoft has been
absolutely no help so far. Have been waiting over a week for a solution to
this problem.

It should get you up and running.
